About The Position

Partner’s legal ops are critical to enabling their 250+ member legal team to serve their teammates and patients across every function of the company. Over the next 2-3 years, the team will advance its internal operations, contract and regulatory processes, and research capabilities through technology and AI-enabled software. In partnership with the VP of Legal Operations and the Partners Product Team, the Product Lead will bring specialized product expertise to drive outcomes and solve critical business problems rapidly. Primary activities involve serving as the in-house subject matter expert on the legal team product needs, acting as the resident expert on the legal technology market, and driving the full product lifecycle to ensure maximum value delivery. We are looking for an expert relationship builder with a bias toward action, a collaborative mindset to bridge IT and business teams, and an obsession with translating complex operational challenges into scalable product solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years of product experience in an agile environment, focused on digital products
  • Business acumen, an insatiable curiosity, and a desire to lead
  • Exceptional problem-solving, organization, communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, deliver to tight deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to easily build expertise in unfamiliar domains
  • Experience writing requirements for user stories and software features
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Legal Management (ELM) systems, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), or Legal AI tools
  • Experience managing vendor evaluations, running RFP processes, and overseeing external software implementations
  • Experience building health tech products and 0-1 products from inception to launch
  • Participation in both internal meetings and external meetings via video calls, as necessary.
  • Ability to go into corporate or client offices to work onsite, as necessary.
  • Prolonged periods of remaining stationary at a desk and working on a computer, as necessary.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead, as necessary.
  • Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment, as necessary.
  • Vision abilities including close vision, toleration of fluorescent lighting, and adjusting focus, as necessary.
  • For positions that require business travel and/or event attendance, ability to lift 25 lbs, as necessary.
  • For positions that require business travel and/or event attendance, a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required, as driving is an essential job function.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry experience can be an invaluable substitute for direct product management skills. Candidates with a background in legal operations, legal tech, or AI-enabled software will be strongly considered

Responsibilities

  • Drives discovery, prioritization, development, and deployment for legal software.
  • Leads in roadmap planning and story mapping.
  • Measures success based on value created (or loss mitigated), leveraging product analytics to make informed decisions.
  • Identifies and tracks objectives and key results (OKRs) for outcome-based advancements.
  • Evaluates and prioritizes potential features or software and aligns them to the legal team's objectives.
  • Becomes the subject matter expert (SME) on legal team product needs, requirements, goals, and areas of value.
  • Performs end-user shadowing/interviews and collaborates with legal and business stakeholders to identify and understand user problems to solve.
  • Uses data to formulate quantifiable problem statements and solution hypotheses that are quantifiable.
  • Guides user-facing communication, change management, and education for new capabilities.
  • Partners with IT and Product teams to navigate internal processes and to inform sprint activities for internal development when needed.
  • Advocates for the legal team's priorities, actively removes roadblocks, identifies cross-team dependencies, and escalates issues.
  • Collaborates closely with Partner’s core security, compliance, and IT risk teams to ensure software delivery meets all enterprise requirements on time.
