About The Position

Kroll's Real Estate Advisory Group (REAG) is developing a new benchmarking capability within its existing KREV platform. This capability will aggregate Kroll's proprietary valuation data with industry-standard indices to provide comparative analytics for commercial real estate portfolios. The role involves owning this initiative from conception through delivery and client launch. REAG currently handles a significant volume of assets and asset value annually but has not systematically utilized this data for benchmarking, making this a strategic priority. The position requires collaboration with REAG leadership, valuation practitioners, an engineering team in India, and external stakeholders to create a trusted and utilized benchmark product.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years focused on data products, analytics platforms, or benchmarking tools.
  • Working knowledge of commercial real estate valuation (cap rates, discount rates, NOI, DCF methodology) and how appraisers use comparable data.
  • Credibility in conversations with REAG practitioners and GP clients regarding real estate valuation.
  • Familiarity with the institutional real estate fund manager (GP/LP) ecosystem.
  • Experience shipping products that involve structured data ingestion, normalization, and deduplication across multiple source systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage distributed engineering teams across different time zones.
  • Strong written communication skills, capable of producing PRDs, methodology documentation, and client-facing materials.
  • Comfort operating in regulated and confidential data environments, including understanding engagement-letter data use restrictions and anonymization requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work on a benchmarking, index, or peer-comparison product.
  • Experience integrating third-party data subscriptions, including attention to licensing and redistribution terms.
  • Background in financial services, asset management, or a Big Four / valuation advisory firm.
  • Familiarity with quarterly production cycles and the operational discipline they require.
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate markets, asset classes, and industry dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product roadmap for the REAG Benchmarking Platform across a three-phase delivery plan (Foundation, KREV Integration & Internal Launch, GA & Expansion) over approximately 10 months.
  • Translate benchmarking methodology into product requirements, including metric definitions, segmentation logic, anonymization rules, and publication cadence, validating with REAG subject-matter experts.
  • Coordinate across various functions: REAG practitioners, the India-based engineering team (backend, UI, data), Legal, and Business Development.
  • Manage data source integration, including normalization, deduplication, and historical coverage, across REAG's proprietary valuation systems and third-party index data.
  • Define the KREV integration experience, encompassing both a dedicated Benchmarking module and an inline portfolio overlay on existing views.
  • Manage the quarterly production cycle, including data freeze dates, QA gates, publication calendar, and meeting on-time delivery commitments to clients.
  • Drive pilot and General Availability (GA) launch with selected clients, incorporate feedback, and expand to the full KREV client base.
  • Track and report progress against targets for coverage, adoption, and reliability.
  • Manage risks related to data quality, licensing, segment depth, and SME availability, with documented mitigation strategies.
