About The Position

CANDU Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Product Manager to lead lifecycle management, obsolescence strategy, and global supply chain development for Fuel Handling systems and CANDU spare parts. This role is critical to ensuring the long-term sustainability of the global CANDU fleet, advancing OEM fueling machine capability, and strengthening supplier partnerships globally. The successful candidate will operate in a highly cross-functional environment, working closely with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, Project Management, and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline (Master’s/MBA preferred).
  • 8–12+ years of relevant experience in nuclear, energy, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Experience in product management, supply chain, or engineering leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of obsolescence management, supplier qualification, and lifecycle support.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with CANDU systems and nuclear quality standards (CSA N299, NQA-1) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an enterprise-wide obsolescence management framework, collaborating with Procurement, Engineering, QA/PQA, and Manufacturing.
  • Act as the primary customer interface for obsolescence-related matters, ensuring proactive communication and lifecycle support.
  • Identify and onboard global suppliers to mitigate sole-source risks and strengthen supply resilience.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination to identify and qualify new suppliers, particularly for fueling machine components.
  • Partner with Procurement to build a robust, nuclear-grade supply chain for CANDU spare parts and fueling machines.
  • Establish and lead a multidisciplinary team supporting fueling machine production, testing, and qualification (including test rigs).
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Market/Business Development (MBD) to develop global supply chain systems and strategic partnerships.
  • Build and scale fuel handling engineering capability, defining required skillsets and supporting recruitment.
  • Develop business cases for OEM fueling machine production, including financial, technical, and strategic analysis.
  • Develop business cases for obsolete parts requiring internal investment (redesign, requalification, or in-house production).
