Product Manager, Credit & Risk Engineering

FloatToronto, ON
Hybrid

About The Position

Float is building the future of Canadian financial services by scaling a credit business powered by modern, innovative underwriting and monitoring infrastructure. This role is for the founding Product Manager for Credit & Risk Engineering, who will own the shared decisioning and monitoring layer, turning it into a product that is fast, accurate, and efficient as volume scales. The position sits at the intersection of Float’s credit roadmap and growth funnel, requiring the sequencing of a small engineering team across infrastructure debt and a new build (FlexLine decisioning engine), while ensuring the systems keep day-to-day risk operations safe and scalable.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience.
  • Meaningful experience personally owning a credit underwriting or risk-decisioning outcome.
  • A track record of building and owning infrastructure or internal-tooling products for internal teams.
  • Comfort operating within compliance-heavy domains such as KYB/KYC, transaction monitoring, fraud, AML, payments operations, or disputes.
  • An automation-first mindset, prioritizing automatic decisioning.
  • Experience sequencing a roadmap under capacity constraints, including the ability to decline non-essential work.
  • Comfort negotiating and holding scope boundaries with senior stakeholders.

  • Own the tooling for fraud detection, AML compliance, payments operations, and dispute resolution, which are critical daily infrastructure for the company.
  • Own the risk decision operating cost per account as the primary efficiency metric, demonstrating system scalability without proportional headcount growth.
  • Own the in-app credit experiences, including applications, balance/limit viewing, and repayment setup, to support Float's credit product roadmap.
