About The Position

CoStar Group is seeking a Product Manager to enhance the systems, workflows, and tools that facilitate efficient content publishing at scale, supporting the expansion of its global content operations. The content platforms are integral to news and editorial experiences across brands like CoStar News, Homes.com, and LoopNet. This role involves owning and improving platforms used by hundreds of internal users in editorial, research, and content teams. The Product Manager will collaborate with engineering, journalists, editors, and stakeholders to streamline publishing, improve usability, and scale content infrastructure. This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career product manager focused on operational and workflow challenges, cross-functional collaboration, and building behind-the-scenes systems for high-impact user experiences. The position contributes to the infrastructure powering content experiences across CoStar Group's brands and international markets, offering hands-on experience in platform product management, stakeholder collaboration, and workflow optimization within a dynamic product organization. The role is based in Richmond, VA or Arlington, VA, requiring an in-office presence Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person, University or College.
  • 1–3 years of experience in product management, digital operations, CMS platforms, content tools, or related cross-functional environments.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, editorial, and business stakeholders.
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn complex systems and workflows.
  • Ability to think systematically and identify opportunities to improve processes at scale.
  • A track record of commitment to prior employers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CMS platforms, publishing tools, or workflow management systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile product development processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Lead News PM, Design, and engineering teams to support and improve content platform functionality and workflows.
  • Manage and prioritize platform enhancements, bugs, and operational issues.
  • Write product requirements, organize backlog items, and support feature delivery through implementation and QA.
  • Monitor platform performance and identify opportunities to improve publishing efficiency and user experience.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to support ongoing platform enhancements.
  • Improve and standardize editorial workflows across brands and teams.
  • Support taxonomy and content organization initiatives to ensure scalable, consistent publishing structures.
  • Identify recurring pain points and propose process or tooling improvements.
  • Support international expansion efforts, including localization and multi-market publishing readiness.
  • Serve as a product partner for journalists, editors, researchers, and content teams.
  • Gather feedback, understand user needs, and translate workflows into product recommendations.
  • Create documentation, training materials, and self-service resources.
  • Facilitate training sessions and office hours to support platform adoption and best practices.
  • Support larger platform initiatives and evaluations, including CMS and publishing workflow improvements.
  • Contribute research, stakeholder feedback, and operational analysis to inform product strategy and long-term platform decisions.
