About The Position

We’re looking for a Product Manager to help bring one of Clair's next products to life. The product you'll initially work on exists today in successful private beta and is actively being expanded. That means you'll have a unique opportunity to join early in the product journey and help shape how we take an idea from concept to a real-world product and experience. This isn't a role where you'll inherit a perfectly defined roadmap or be handed a clear playbook for success. We have a direction, a problem we're working to solve, and a vision, but there is still plenty to figure out. You'll help turn ambiguity into action, make smart decisions with imperfect information, and work alongside a small, highly collaborative team to build, test, learn, and iterate quickly. At Clair, building products is uniquely complex. We're an embedded fintech company, which means great product decisions require balancing the needs of our users with partner priorities and internal business demands, all while operating within a regulated environment. You'll work closely with engineering, design, data, finance, regulatory, operations, go-to-market, and partner teams to navigate those competing inputs and find the best path forward. We're looking for a builder who is comfortable with gray areas, thinks outside the box, and isn't afraid to try something that might not work. You know how to move quickly without being reckless and understand that failing fast is only valuable if you're learning fast, too. You won't be joining a team with every answer already mapped out. You'll help us find them. If you need someone to tell you exactly how to win, this probably isn't the role for you.

Requirements

3+ years of product management experience, ideally with experience building new products or features from the ground up.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity; you can create clarity and momentum without needing every decision, process, or path defined for you.
Strong product instincts paired with a willingness to test those instincts quickly and learn when you're wrong. You should be able to express and extol a strong sense of how you want a product to be before it exists.
Experience balancing multiple stakeholder needs while maintaining a clear point of view about what is best for the user and product.
Deep empathy for how Americans use financial products and an interest in how financial products can meaningfully impact people's lives and financial wellbeing.
Experience partnering closely with design teams and a strong ability to articulate product preferences, user needs, and tradeoffs.
Comfort working with engineers, data teams, and technical systems—even if you're not the most technical person in the room.
Strong data fluency and experience using quantitative and qualitative insights to inform product decisions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bring people along when the answer or path forward isn't immediately obvious.
Comfort advocating for a product strategy or roadmap, including upward with senior leadership.
A strong sense of ownership and accountability—you see problems through rather than waiting for someone else to solve them.
A startup mindset: resourceful, adaptable, practical, and energized by building something that doesn't already exist.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in consumer fintech, neobanking, financial services, or another complex and regulated industry is preferred.
Understanding of or curiosity about lending systems, underwriting, payments, risk management, or other financial infrastructure is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and help define opportunities for new Clair products and experiences, often before the problem or solution is fully understood.
Define and execute product strategy and roadmaps in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
Partner closely with engineering and design to move quickly from concept to experiment to product, balancing speed with thoughtful execution.
Build, test, learn, and iterate quickly—knowing when to invest further and when to fail fast and move on.
Balance user experience and needs with partner priorities, business requirements, and the realities of operating an embedded fintech product.
Spend time with partner management and go-to-market teams to identify new opportunities, uncover unmet needs, and develop new product concepts when necessary.
Develop a deep understanding of Clair users through feedback, behavioral data, research, and direct conversations—and push for new ways to learn when existing data isn't enough.
Work closely with data and analytics teams to develop hypotheses, evaluate product performance, and make informed decisions without becoming paralyzed by incomplete data.
Collaborate with design and support teams to create intuitive, elegant experiences that help users understand and confidently engage with financial products.
Partner with regulatory, finance, operations, and other internal stakeholders to navigate complex requirements without losing sight of the user experience.
Bring the voice of the customer into product strategy, roadmap discussions, and day-to-day product decisions.
Analyze market trends, emerging customer needs, and the broader fintech landscape to identify opportunities for innovation and new business lines.
Advocate for your product and point of view, including with senior leadership, while remaining open to feedback and willing to change your mind when new information emerges.
Take ownership from problem identification through launch and iteration—you won't just recommend what should happen; you'll help make it happen.
