About The Position

We are seeking a Product Manager to lead and evolve our acquiring and embedded finance capabilities, supporting both card-present and card-not-present transactions across our merchant base. This role sits at the intersection of payment processing, merchant onboarding, platform orchestration, and regulatory compliance. It is critical to delivering secure, reliable, and competitive acquiring solutions for Canadian merchants. You will have end-to-end ownership of the acquiring product lifecycle — from strategy and roadmap development through platform delivery, optimization, and scaling — with a focus on the platforms and workflows that power merchant onboarding orchestration, authorization, clearing, settlement, embedded finance, and reporting. You will work closely with Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Sales, and external partners including payment processors, payment networks, and financial institution partners. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with significant cross-functional leadership and organizational visibility.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience in payments, fintech, or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of acquiring fundamentals including authorization, clearing, settlement, interchange, and chargeback management.
  • Hands-on experience defining requirements for merchant onboarding platforms, boarding orchestration workflows, or acquiring operations systems.
  • Familiarity with Canadian payment networks and standards (Interac, EMV, PCI DSS).
  • Experience working across PayFac, ISO, or ISV operating models and understanding of how merchant boarding differs across these channels.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives in regulated environments.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable making data-driven decisions and commercially informed trade-offs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with embedded finance products such as merchant cash advance, working capital, or integrated lending solutions.
  • Familiarity with UX/UI principles and experience collaborating with design teams to shape merchant-facing workflows, onboarding experiences, or platform interfaces.
  • Background in risk, fraud, or compliance within acquiring or merchant onboarding environments.
  • Exposure to omnichannel acquiring or integrated POS ecosystems from a platform perspective.
  • Experience supporting hospitality or retail merchant segments.
  • Bilingual (English/French).

Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for acquiring capabilities, including authorization, clearing, settlement, chargebacks, and reporting across card-present and card-not-present transaction flows.
  • Lead the definition, prioritization, and delivery of merchant platform onboarding orchestration products — including merchant application workflows, underwriting integration touchpoints, boarding APIs, and activation processes.
  • Define and manage requirements for merchant onboarding orchestration, ensuring seamless, scalable, and compliant boarding experiences across direct, ISO, ISV, and PayFac channels.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce onboarding friction, improve time-to-live for new merchants, and increase boarding automation across partner and direct segments.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Operations to embed AML, KYC, fraud prevention, and dispute management controls into onboarding and acquiring workflows.
  • Collaborate with Technology to define platform APIs, integration standards, and data models that support scalable merchant onboarding and acquiring operations.
  • Ensure acquiring and onboarding platforms remain aligned with network rules, regulatory requirements, and operational constraints across Canadian and cross-border contexts.
  • Lead incident analysis and continuous improvement initiatives related to acquiring platform performance, onboarding failures, and settlement exceptions.
  • Drive the strategy and delivery of embedded finance capabilities, including financing, working capital, and value-added financial services integrated into the merchant acquiring experience.
  • Partner with Sales and leadership to enhance embedded finance solution offerings, define go-to-market models, and support commercial packaging decisions.
  • Define product requirements for embedded finance integrations, ensuring alignment with acquiring infrastructure, compliance obligations, and partner delivery models.
  • Identify and evaluate new embedded finance opportunities that deepen merchant engagement and expand revenue streams.
