About The Position

The product line manager specializes in product life cycle and continuous improvement development. He/she is responsible for the design of strategic objectives, product success and profitability. Product line managers have full ownership and control of their product line portfolio. They oversee production from the initial prototype stage through to manufacturing and phasing out.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant technical diploma or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with people in a group environment and customer focus.
  • Excellent organizational, project management and communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexibly and overtime as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Availability and ability to travel to visit customers if necessary.
  • Knowledge and experience of CNC machining, sheet metal work, welding, finishing and assembly.
  • Spirit of continuous improvement in all aspects of work habits; GD&T preferred.
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of Solid Works is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Master the French and English language (customers from the United States).
  • All other related tasks are considered part of the role and may be assigned as needed

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring product line functional performance, resolving all product quality issues, internal action requests and external customer engineering change notices.
  • Act as technical liaison between CMP and the customer.
  • Act as a technical resource for a variety of internal and external groups such as account managers, sales and quality engineers.
  • Act as team leader in the engagement of technical personnel, including assigning project tasks, tracking deliverables and ensuring overall project timelines are met.
  • Lead the development of productivity improvement initiatives within their product lines.
  • Ensure that the productivity improvement plan is adhered to and take action to mitigate execution and schedule risks.
  • Ensure quality standards are met throughout the production process.
  • Lead cross-functional productivity and process improvement teams.
  • Ensure that product lines maximize the use of existing CMP technologies and methodologies, while customizing processes to meet customer needs.
  • Monitor the long-term profitability of the product line.
  • Demonstrate advanced or expert technical knowledge of product manufacturability.
  • All other related tasks are considered part of the role and may be assigned as needed.
