About The Position

The Product Liability & Warranty Litigation Manager will manage strategies related to product liability and warranty matters. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and legal counsel to mitigate risk, ensure compliance, and protect the organization’s interests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in the automotive, manufacturing, warranty, quality, safety, or technical investigation field.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems, components, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting or collaborating on product liability, warranty, safety investigations, recalls, or technical failure analysis.
  • Ability to interpret technical reports, expert inspections, and engineering data and translate findings for legal and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with external vendors, service providers, or third parties (e.g., inspectors, adjusters, consultants).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex files or investigations from intake through resolution.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues clearly and concisely.
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive matters.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and case or document management systems.
  • Bilingual in English and French is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing consumer issues with legal implications.
  • Represent Stellantis Canada as the main liaison for all consumer Legal Files including but not limited to Product Liability and Insurance Subrogation claims.
  • Respond to insurance companies and complete all administrative tasks involving insurance subrogation demands.
  • Responsible for managing all legal activities from when the file is created until its conclusion.
  • Manage and provide instructions to outside counsel who represent Stellantis Canada.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Office to review alleged safety concerns brought against Stellantis Canada.
  • Attend mediations, settlement conferences and discoveries with outside counsel (where appointed).
  • Conduct and lead small claims court proceedings and trials.
  • Manage vehicle inspections from initial request to review of expert inspection report.
  • Coordinate and assist with requested vehicle buy-backs.
  • Handle and approve all settlement payments, vehicle inspection invoices, and external counsel billings associated with each file.
  • Oversee compliance with Quebec’s Bill 29 (Seriously Defective Vehicle) law.
  • Provide technical advice to Business Center staff across Canada, including Customer Care.
  • Supervise and assist the Product Liability & Warranty Litigation Coordinator and with the Senior Clerk as necessary.
  • Assist General Counsel with managing Class Action cases through the Legal Department. Handle payments for the billings involved.
  • Offer support for Transport Canada inquiries, discoveries, and undertakings.
