About The Position

Midjourney is an independent research lab exploring new mediums of thought and expanding the imaginative powers of the human species. They are a small, self-funded team focused on design, human infrastructure, and AI. The product team works closely with research, design, and engineering to figure out problems that don't have obvious solutions. The Product Lead will partner closely with the Chief Design Officer to shape the future of Midjourney's products while building and leading the product management team. This role involves significant hands-on work, including product direction, user interaction, prototype review, experiment design, and leading key projects. The role also includes coaching product managers and diving deep into complex problems.

Requirements

Spent the last decade building software people love to use.
Led product teams, but still enjoy owning important projects yourself.
Enjoy working across disciplines and know how to bring designers, engineers, and analysts together around a problem.
Using Claude Code and Cursor are part of your workflow.
Comfortable talking to users and reviewing experiments as well as thinking through long-term product strategy.
Excited by products that require inventing new ways for people to interact with technology.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the Chief Design Officer to shape the direction of Midjourney's products.
Recruit, mentor, and lead the product management team.
Lead the most important and ambiguous product initiatives yourself.
Go deep on difficult problems—whether that's talking to users, designing an experiment, analyzing results, defining product direction, or helping a team navigate a critical decision.
Partner closely with design, engineering, and research to bring new ideas into the world.
Establish product reviews, planning rhythms, and decision-making processes that help the team do its best work.
