About The Position

Thermo Fisher Scientific's internship program is designed to identify and develop future leadership talent. Interns who excel and demonstrate leadership potential may be considered for full-time roles post-graduation, including entry into Leadership Development Programs (LDPs) or other early career positions. As a global company, interns must be geographically flexible and mobile for both their internship assignment and potential future employment. This role requires onsite and in-office work as an essential function. The internships are 10-week positions, with start dates on May 24, 2027, or June 14, 2027. Projects assigned will have significant strategic and/or operating importance to the business.

Requirements

Undergraduate student completing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Materials Science, Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field between December 2027 – June 2028.
Previous related internships and / or work experience totaling 1+ years experience required.
Proven leadership experience through student organizations, athletics, Greek life, community service, volunteer organizations, campus programs, military service, or other leadership roles.
A track record of influencing others, leading initiatives, driving results, and creating positive impact within teams and organizations.
Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities, and solve complex problems.
Evidence of grit, resilience, and perseverance when facing challenges, setbacks, or competing priorities.
Strong learning agility, intellectual curiosity, and an innovative mindset.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams.
Geographic mobility and flexibility required to pursue internship and future career opportunities in locations aligned with business needs.
Onsite and in-office work is an essential function of this role and is required throughout the program and in future placements to support collaboration across businesses, functions, and locations.

Responsibilities

Execute material qualification testing for new and updated clinical label materials and designs, including release and adhesion testing using laboratory test equipment.
Support label stability studies using environmental chambers to evaluate label material performance under controlled environmental conditions.
Set up and execute engineering tests, collect and document test data, and assist with analysis and interpretation of results.
Perform basic maintenance and routine upkeep of laboratory test equipment and support process qualification activities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities, evaluating potential solutions, and assisting with change control activities and Change Control Board documentation.
