About The Position

The Senior Product Engineer performs product engineering assignments of moderate scope supporting design, production readiness, and sustaining engineering. The role applies standard methods with growing independent judgment to translate requirements, maintain technical product data, support prototype and production builds, and resolve routine manufacturing issues while escalating higher-complexity concerns. The engineer develops and maintains product designs and documentation, verifies assigned designs against functional and manufacturing requirements, supports production and build activities, and coordinates engineering changes. The role works with manufacturing, quality, procurement, project teams, and suppliers to resolve common technical issues and improve product manufacturability.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience in product design, design engineering, manufacturing engineering, sustaining engineering, or a comparable production-support environment.
  • Working knowledge of design for manufacturing and assembly, engineering drawings, tolerance and fit considerations, basic failure analysis, and engineering change processes.
  • Working proficiency with computer-aided design and technical documentation tools, including SolidWorks and Revit or comparable applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve routine technical problems and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work at a computer screen and sit for extended periods.

  • Interpret customer, project, and technical requirements and verify assigned designs meet functional, manufacturing, quality, safety, code, and configuration requirements.
  • Respond to routine production-line engineering issues, perform initial root-cause analysis, and implement approved corrective actions within established processes.
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables and change releases to support upcoming production schedules; identify risks and communicate potential impacts.
  • Support defined portions of prototype, pilot, and first-build activities, including fit checks, testing, design verification, and closure of assigned actions.
  • Conduct design and drawing reviews for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability; document issues and follow corrections through completion.
  • Prepare and process engineering changes and maintain controlled product documentation in SolidWorks, Revit, and approved systems.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, procurement, project teams, and suppliers to evaluate options and resolve common technical issues.
