About The Position

This role involves identifying cost-saving opportunities, maintaining product engineering documentation, and managing bill of materials. The Product Engineer will also analyze product failures, support customer trials, and mentor junior engineers. The position operates in both office and manufacturing environments and requires the ability to travel.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience as a P.E. Technician.
  • Experience working with Windows operating system.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to travel with limited notice.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree with a concentration of coursework in industrial technology, industrial or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and communicate with inter-company personnel.
  • Maintain various product engineering documents, drawings, and files.
  • Ensure accurate creation and distribution of component lists.
  • Design, create, and maintain bill of material functions.
  • Identify potential issues affecting change implementation and provide countermeasures.
  • Support and attend all required customer and internal functional trials/meetings.
  • Set schedule, identify priorities, and initiate action plans for requested design changes.
  • Communicate status of changes to various internal and external customer groups.
  • Examine specification documents and development plans.
  • Compile pictures and drawings from customer-supplied documents and component lists for internal use.
  • Attend meetings and provide support/documentation for various marketing and sales requests.
  • Analyze product failure data and laboratory test results to determine causes of problems and develop solutions.
  • Attend trial activities facilitated by Quality and/or Engineering.
  • Monitor material performance and evaluate material deterioration.
  • Follow established work practices that support compliance with all company policies, safety standards, 5S practices, regulatory and/or customer requirements.
  • Mentor new product engineers and PE technicians in engineering, department, and company responsibilities.
