About The Position

Supa Health is building an AI-powered operating system to automate the administrative tasks in healthcare, such as benefits verification, prior authorization, intake, and claims processing. The company aims to eliminate the manual work currently done by clinic staff, allowing clinicians to focus on patient care. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building production software.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript.
  • Experience with Postgres.
  • Ability to reason through tradeoffs with incomplete information and make decisions.
  • Willingness to learn and work across different technical areas as needed (frontend, backend, infra, AI, product).
  • Experience shipping real software to real users.
  • Understanding of schema design and state machines.
  • Ability to differentiate between extra effort and meaningful quality.
  • Skills in writing code reviews that improve team standards.
  • Experience with user-facing tools and understanding their interaction models.
  • Ability to work with legacy systems and parse structured/unstructured data.
  • Experience with authentication, multi-tenancy, and integrations.

  • Ability to work quickly by deleting unnecessary work, making decisions fast, and not being precious about being wrong.
  • Comfort talking to users (operators and clinic owners).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with agentic AI/LLM systems, including agents, tools, evaluations, and associated plumbing.
  • Understanding of when an LLM is the appropriate solution.
  • Experience in an early-stage startup environment.
  • Background in healthcare or revenue cycle management (RCM).
  • Familiarity with healthcare-specific terms like '271', clearinghouses, or platforms like Availity.

Responsibilities

  • Work on operator-facing surfaces, which are real-time, information-rich SPAs used by the back-office team to manage hundreds of cases daily. This involves modern React, TypeScript, and real-time communication over WebSockets.
  • Develop the agent platform, focusing on systems that enable agents to make calls, navigate legacy systems, parse payer responses, and manage workflows, potentially involving LLMs and Postgres.
  • Build and maintain the underlying platform, including schema, services, authentication, multi-tenancy, integrations, and HIPAA-compliant data segregation, using technologies like Postgres, Drizzle, Fastify, Nx monorepo, and WorkOS.
  • Contribute to defining and building the next product features based on customer requests and the company roadmap.
  • Engage directly with operators and clinic owners to understand their workflows and automate painful parts of their jobs.
  • Ship features rapidly, with a goal of deploying on Tuesday and seeing them in production by Wednesday.
  • Participate in code reviews, aiming to improve the quality and standards of the team's work through specific and constructive feedback.
  • Take ownership of problems from identification to deployment, including user interaction, solution design, coding, and post-deployment fixes.
  • Collaborate with users and teammates to define product direction and implementation details.
  • Work with operators to identify pain points and refine problem definitions for automation.

Benefits

  • Salary in the $190K–$230K range.
