About The Position

Encord is seeking a Product Engineer to join their Data as a Service (DaaS) team in San Francisco. This role is crucial for building the machine that produces labeled data from the physical world, which is essential for the next wave of AI development in areas like robotics and autonomous vehicles. The Product Engineer will work on genuinely unsolved problems, designing systems where human reviewers and AI models collaborate seamlessly. This position offers end-to-end ownership, from product and architectural decisions to deployment and impact measurement. The role emphasizes direct customer interaction, problem-solving, and collaborative teamwork within a lean, high-trust environment.

Requirements

Experience building and maintaining systems from scratch.
Understanding of trade-offs in shipping reliable, performant software at speed.
Desire to work directly with customers through discovery calls and feedback sessions.
Team player who raises the people around them and contributes their best work.
Experience as an early engineer in a startup or founding something.
