About The Position

We’re building a consumer platform to change how the world eats, who shapes our choices, and who the food industry answers to. We’re united by an obsessive love of good food and the conviction that enjoying it shouldn’t require so much work. Our backgrounds span global investment banking, fintech, semiconductors, and data infrastructure. We’re developing our beta and preparing for user testing. We’re currently in stealth. Company and product details are shared under NDA in the first conversation. We’re hiring a Founding Product Engineer to shape and build the experiences people use, from our mobile app to conversational, voice, and agentic features, alongside intuitive tools for our internal team. Your immediate mandate is to take the beta through user testing and launch, turning it into a product households use every week. You’ll own problems from understanding user needs through product decisions, implementation, and iteration, bringing equal care to how an experience works and how it feels. You’ll work directly with the founder and lead engineer, who owns the data, recommendation systems, and underlying infrastructure. You’ll have a clear area of ownership, with close collaboration across the stack and shared responsibility for the product as a whole.

Requirements

  • You’ve shipped a consumer or prosumer product to real users and can explain the decisions, tradeoffs, and lessons behind it.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals.
  • You bring strong TypeScript and React Native experience, including Expo, and proficiency with React on the web.
  • You’ve shipped a mobile app to the App Store or Google Play and supported it through subsequent releases.
  • Comfort across the stack. You have enough Python to read server code, trace a request through to the database, debug integrations, and make focused changes to services.
  • Production experience with AI. You’ve shipped language-model features involving tool calling, streaming, and voice transcription.
  • You understand the failure cases that emerge with real users and design for appropriate confirmation, feedback, and recovery.
  • Fluency with coding agents. You use them daily, choose tools suited to the task, and direct, review, and debug their work.
  • You understand the architecture and take responsibility for what ships.
  • Product judgment and design taste. You let the why lead the what and the how.
  • You weigh user needs, stakeholder incentives, and commercial goals to make thoughtful tradeoffs across usability, trust, and business value.
  • Your judgment comes from observing users and shows up in flows, screens, copy, and prioritization.
  • Entrepreneurial ownership. You can get a codebase running from documentation, make considered decisions with incomplete information, and see work through.
  • You communicate proactively, raise problems early, and bring possible solutions.
  • Curiosity, candor, and respect.
  • You hold high standards for yourself and the team, disagree constructively, own mistakes, and change course when the evidence warrants it.
  • You work independently while collaborating closely; experience partnering with designers and product managers is valuable.
  • Comfort with an early-stage company. You’re resourceful, adapt as priorities become clearer, and exercise the discretion required to work in stealth.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coordinating multiple agents is a plus.
  • Experience in food, grocery, health, social media, or commerce earns extra brownie points.

Responsibilities

  • Own the mobile app end to end, including architecture, components, user flows, interaction states, performance, app-store releases, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Shape conversational, voice, and agentic experiences, including how they communicate progress, request permission before consequential actions, and recover when a model is slow, wrong, or unavailable.
  • Build intuitive features for consumers, business partners, and internal teams.
  • Understand their needs firsthand and push for simpler flows when they serve users better.
  • Hold every screen to a high consumer product standard across visual hierarchy, interaction states, and copy.
  • Bring care to the details that make a product clear and easy to use.
  • Use the product daily, speak to users, and watch where they struggle.
  • Use observability tools to diagnose and prioritize problems, and add targeted automated tests to prevent regressions.
  • Work with the founding team to bring core flows from demo readiness to reliable everyday use, shipping quickly and iterating on what you learn.
  • Partner with the lead engineer to connect product experiences to underlying services and resolve gaps across the stack.
  • Establish the engineering, design, and product standards future hires will inherit, supported by understandable architecture, clear documentation, internal tooling, and review practices.

Benefits

  • Founding equity
  • Modestly paid engagement
  • Full-time founding role
  • Salary will begin at the close of our first financing round, expected in late 2026 or early 2027.
