About The Position

As one of the first Product Engineers at Pure, you’ll build the tools people use to buy and sell rare coins and precious metals. Your work will cover listings, trading, checkout, payments, and account features. You’ll work closely with design, growth, customer support, and product leadership to decide what to build and see it through to launch. About Pure Founded in 2023, Pure is a marketplace for rare coins and precious metals, serving over 11,000 organizations and processing more than $75 million in transactions each month. Much of this industry still runs on phone calls, spreadsheets, and relationships. We’re building a marketplace that makes pricing clearer and buying and selling easier.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience building customer-facing software, ideally at a startup.
  • Comfortable taking a feature from an initial idea through development, launch, and improvements.
  • Strong experience with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
  • Experience building backend APIs and services with Node.js or a similar stack, using PostgreSQL or another relational database.
  • Use data and customer feedback to understand whether a feature is working.
  • Communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical teammates.
  • Can make decisions and keep work moving when priorities change.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building marketplaces, fintech, commerce, or other products that handle transactions.
  • Experience with payments, fraud detection, identity, or trust and safety systems.
  • Experience building experiments, analytics tools, or growth features.
  • Experience scaling web applications with high traffic.

Responsibilities

  • Build marketplace features from start to finish, including backend services and customer-facing interfaces.
  • Make technical decisions for listings, trading, checkout, payments, and account features.
  • Build fast, accessible web experiences with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
  • Improve fraud prevention, risk detection, and payment and order reliability.
  • Work with Growth on acquisition, onboarding, activation, and retention.
  • Use customer feedback, product data, and input from our operations team to improve what you ship.
  • Review code, contribute to architecture decisions, and help other engineers develop their skills.
