About The Position

Provide technical support for new product development and lead technical projects from concept through implementation. The role supports product development activities, leads projects alongside other product engineers, collaborates with cross-functional teams, improves the performance of existing jobs, and contributes to process enhancements. The position is based at the Youngstown Manufacturing Headquarters in Youngstown, Ohio, with a day shift as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
10+ years of experience in tool and die, roll forming, and metal fabrication.
Skills in AutoCAD and Inventor.
Skills in Microsoft Office.
Continuous improvement skills.
Leadership skills.
Fixture design skills.

Responsibilities

Help establish and maintain best practices in technical leadership, product collaboration, team development, quality, and on-time delivery in accordance with Hynes Standard Operating Procedures.
Help maintain the job status report as required.
Formulate product drawings, construct setup sheets, design fixturing, and create pre-notch and length programs as required.
Create and maintain engineering documentation, including part prints, packaging instructions, part programs, and capital expenditures.
Support the Process Group with line optimization and continuous improvement projects.
Manage new-job production launches to keep projects on track to meet customer requirements and facilitate regular project update meetings.
Follow up with outside vendors, track their progress, and communicate risks.
Work with the Operations Group on new start-ups and continuous improvement initiatives.
Help maintain the ERP system and monitor it for accuracy and consistency.
Execute Engineering Change Notices as required.
Take an active role in training the product engineering team.
Work with the Sales and Quote team on new project prospects.
Work with the Advanced Manufacturing team on equipment installations and moves that affect existing jobs.
