About The Position

Under general supervision, the candidate is responsible for the mechanical testing of various products used by patients with Diabetes for the administration of their therapy regiment. This includes both sharps and non-sharps products. Product testing responsibility will include new product development, line extensions, peripheral devices, quality improvements, the testing of competitive products, and compatibility testing. Other responsibilities include maintaining laboratory equipment, and support of day-to-day laboratory function and operation in conjunction with the R&D Engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical testing of various products for diabetes therapy administration (sharps and non-sharps).
  • Conduct testing for new product development, line extensions, peripheral devices, quality improvements, competitive products, and compatibility.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and support daily laboratory functions and operations.
  • Write or participate in the development of testing protocols.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation such as force measurement equipment (Instron, Chatillon, etc.), linear measurement vision systems, balances, and scales.
  • Prepare and document all test data appropriately.
  • Communicate test results orally and in writing to responsible Engineers.
  • Coordinate with Metrology for the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and devices.
  • Assist with moving equipment, which may lead to new test method validations.
  • Support test method validations, including gage R&Rs.
