About The Position

This role is for a Product Development Engineer, specifically targeting recent college graduates with a degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering. The position is onsite and involves planning and performing experiments to support new product or technology feasibility testing. The engineer will critically analyze experimental data, synthesize evaluations of product and technology feasibility, and document ideas and concepts in an R&D Notebook. Responsibilities include reporting experiment results to management and peers, advising on product development implications, and preparing technical reports. The role also supports the intellectual property strategy by documenting ideas and concepts. Maintaining scientific equipment, adhering to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and interfacing with engineering for experimental designs and testing are also key aspects of the position. Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
  • Minimum 1-5+ years direct laboratory experience
  • US Citizens or GC Holders Only

Responsibilities

  • Independently plans and performs experiments that support new product or technology feasibility testing.
  • Critically analyzes data generated from experiments.
  • Synthesizes resulting evaluations of product and technology feasibility, as well as ideas and concepts and records them in an R&D Notebook.
  • Reports results of experiments to R&D management and peers.
  • Advises of the product development implications arising from the results and when necessary, prepares technical reports.
  • Supports the IDS intellectual property strategy by documenting data and independent, unique, and patentable ideas that result from experimentations and concept generation.
  • Maintains scientific equipment as necessary to support scientific and technical objectives as well as regulatory and governance requirements.
  • Maintains good laboratory practices (GLP) consistent with IDS product development objectives and regulatory guidelines.
  • Interfaces with engineering to support experimental designs and performs testing of product produced experimentally as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.
