About The Position

Arclin USA is currently looking to fill a Product Development Chemist II position at our Macon, GA location. Reporting to the R&T Director, this position is responsible for designing and executing new product development tasks associated with the development of innovative chemistry-based products (resins) and solutions which support Arclin’s product development strategy. This position operates within the parameters of Arclin’s policies and procedures and will provide product expertise to R&T, Sales, Manufacturing, and Marketing groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Chemistry (BSc)
  • 3-5 years’ experience within an industrial chemical laboratory environment; MS degree will substitute for two years of experience
  • Knowledge of experimental design, laboratory equipment and project planning skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to document and write technical reports.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software (MS Office, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the chemistry of formaldehyde based phenolic and amino resins an asset.
  • Basic understanding of the engineering processes used in resin production.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute projects to develop quality resin products and existing product production optimization for Arclin customers. This includes: conducting lab experiments, syntheses, routine testing and production troubleshooting
  • Provide technical support to the application group, production and sales in compliance with ISO standards. Participate in product design and customer meetings as required
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of work results and activities; Provide technical support to HSE group on product MSDS and the Supply Chain group for raw material sourcing
  • Maintain a clean and safe lab environment in compliance with Arclin HSE policies and procedures. Ensure that all lab equipment is maintained and operating optimally
