Requirements

Four-year college degree in Chemistry or related science field
2 – 4 years of analytical, environmental or process chemistry experience.
Working knowledge of chemical analysis, standards, methods and practices.
Working knowledge of laboratory instruments and equipment.
Working knowledge of various software applications including spreadsheet, work processing, graphics and analytical programs.
Ability to operate a computer workstation and the related hardware and software.
Ability to operate analytical instruments and equipment.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
Ability to work with moderate supervision, and to work in a production-oriented environment.
Laboratory skills.
Problem solving skills.
Project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well organized and the ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
Willing to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain equipment and participate in the completion of group activities.
Implement approved plans which outline action to support the achievement of defined department goals.
Participate in projects and services, within own function, necessary to support the improvement of existing processes.
Assist in coordinating project results at various stages and implement approved changes in direction as instructed.
Develop and communicate project results through standard technical reports and memoranda.
Maintain complete and accurate records, data books and other required documentation.
Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
