Requirements

  • Four-year college degree in Chemistry or related science field
  • 2 – 4 years of analytical, environmental or process chemistry experience.
  • Working knowledge of chemical analysis, standards, methods and practices.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of various software applications including spreadsheet, work processing, graphics and analytical programs.
  • Ability to operate a computer workstation and the related hardware and software.
  • Ability to operate analytical instruments and equipment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Ability to work with moderate supervision, and to work in a production-oriented environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well organized and the ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain equipment and participate in the completion of group activities.
  • Implement approved plans which outline action to support the achievement of defined department goals.
  • Participate in projects and services, within own function, necessary to support the improvement of existing processes.
  • Assist in coordinating project results at various stages and implement approved changes in direction as instructed.
  • Develop and communicate project results through standard technical reports and memoranda.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records, data books and other required documentation.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
