Digital Foundry, Inc.Tiburon, CA
$85,000 - $115,000Onsite

About The Position

Digital Foundry is seeking a Product Designer to focus on AI-Enabled Products. This role is a hands-on design position responsible for creating real interfaces on real products, focusing on the human side of AI features and human-in-the-loop touchpoints. The designer will work within real-world constraints, including regulated or mission-critical settings, ensuring accessibility, clarity, and well-designed failure cases. The position offers an opportunity to learn the AI-specific craft alongside senior designers and engineers, contributing to how AI product problems are solved and growing into a leadership role over time.

Requirements

  • User research and facilitation skills, including comfort running and supporting interviews, workshops, and requirements sessions.
  • End-to-end product and interaction design capabilities, demonstrated through a portfolio showing concepts to refined, functional, aesthetically strong interfaces.
  • Figma fluency for design and clean developer handoff.
  • Experience with accessibility and inclusive design as a working practice.
  • Technical literacy, including a working sense of feasibility.
  • Willingness to partner closely with engineers to ensure designs are buildable.
  • Clear documentation and communication of interaction and interface components for handoff to development teams.
  • Approximately 3 to 5 years of product or UX design experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience designing AI features, data-dense tools, or complex workflows.
  • Familiarity with designing for regulated or enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design real interfaces on real products, taking features and flows from research and concept through to refined, build-ready design across web and mobile.
  • Design the human side of AI features, focusing on how people interpret and trust AI outputs, showing confidence and uncertainty, surfacing sources, making error states clear, and providing users a path to verify or reject output.
  • Design human-in-the-loop touchpoints where a person stays in control, including review steps, approval points, and clear off-ramps when something looks wrong.
  • Incorporate accessibility, clarity, and well-designed failure cases into designs from the initial sketch, especially for products in regulated or mission-critical settings.
  • Use AI in your own practice for rapid prototyping, generating and stress-testing variations, drafting copy, and speeding up research synthesis.
  • Collaborate closely with senior design and engineering teams.
