About The Position

The Product Experience team at Upstart comprises product design, research, and content strategy, focused on shaping the future of lending with high-craft execution, deep customer insight, and measurable business impact. The Unsecured Lending team specifically focuses on borrower-facing experiences for personal loans and revolving credit products, owning core moments in the borrower journey such as rate selection, origination, and repayment, with an emphasis on clarity and trust. As a Product Designer on this team, you will support feature-level design work, collaborating closely with product managers and engineers to deliver high-quality, production-ready designs that impact millions of borrower interactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) + 3 years of product design experience
  • 3+ years of experience designing end-to-end digital product experiences from concept through delivery
  • Proficiency with Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and visual design
  • Experience delivering production-ready designs and collaborating with engineering teams through implementation
  • Experience designing user flows for web or mobile applications, including multi-step workflows

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing complex, multi-step user flows such as applications, forms, or comparison tools
  • Knowledge of fintech, lending, or other regulated consumer product environments
  • Familiarity with working within or contributing to a design system
  • Experience working in a cross-functional product development model with product management and engineering
  • Ability to incorporate user feedback and data insights into iterative design improvements

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end user experiences across borrower-facing flows
  • Translate product requirements into wireframes, interactive prototypes,, and high-fidelity visual designs
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to align on scope, constraints, and implementation details
  • Deliver production-ready designs and ensure design intent is preserved through development handoff
  • Incorporate user feedback, data insights, and stakeholder input to iterate on designs
  • Partner with adjacent teams (e.g., Growth) to ensure seamless experiences across the borrower journey
