About The Position

Sapiom is building the financial payments infrastructure for the machine economy, enabling AI agents to transact safely with real-world services. This role is central to shaping how complex, high-stakes transaction flows become intuitive interfaces for developers. The ideal candidate is a systems thinker comfortable with both visual design and challenging product assumptions.

Requirements

• Proven track record designing interactive products in complex technical domains (developer tooling, infrastructure software, fintech, security) with sophisticated users and high stakes.
• Exceptional visual, UI, and interaction design craft, with the judgment to effectively use and advance the design system.
• Proficiency with modern design tools including collaborative workshops (FigJam), high-fidelity design (Figma), and production/prototype code (v0, Cursor, or similar).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate design perspectives, seek feedback, and influence peers.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in fast-paced engineering environments with continuous shipping cycles.
• Capacity to hold a strong point of view while remaining open to better ideas, with a focus on the outcome rather than ego.
• Comfort working in ambiguous environments and contributing to a function that is still being defined, as this is an early role with significant ownership.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end design process across Sapiom's core product, from discovery and requirements gathering to visual design and implementation guidance.
• Work on challenging UX problems in agentic commerce, including spend controls, policy configuration, risk visibility, developer APIs, and dashboards for autonomous financial activity.
• Define and evolve Sapiom's design language, determining when to use, adapt, or break existing systems.
• Ship interfaces for agentic spend authorization, policy enforcement, transaction monitoring, and developer configuration flows.
• Advocate for design quality and consistency across the company, establishing standards and raising the product's aesthetic and functional bar.
• Nurture a design culture as an early team member by giving and receiving feedback, mentoring, and building a positive work environment.
