About The Position

Skimmer is looking for a Product Designer to join their team. This role will contribute expertise to help scale their industry-leading platform, focusing on new products and growth areas. The Product Designer will partner closely with product and engineering teams and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver excellent, intuitive, innovative, and impactful digital experiences for customers.

Requirements

  • Experience in product design with at least 1 role in design at a SaaS company, having worked on both mobile and web applications.
  • Ability to balance user needs with business objectives and technical constraints.
  • A strong understanding of visual design principles and demonstration of applying them to web and, ideally, mobile applications.
  • An emerging understanding of user research methods, accessibility standards, and mobile design standards.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, AI tools such as Claude or Paper, and work management tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to contribute to project requirements with light supervision required, ensuring commitments and deadlines are met or exceeded.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity visual designs in accordance with product/user requirements for existing and new experiences.
  • Partner with product to conduct and analyze user research, usability testing, and data to inform design decisions alongside product management counterparts.
  • Partner with product management and contribute to roadmap initiatives from discovery to delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business goals and user needs.
  • Collaborate with design colleagues to advance existing design patterns and practices for desktop and mobile versions of products.
  • Execute user-centered design principles and represent the voice of the user throughout the development of mockups, prototypes, and delivered features.
  • Work with other design team members to create and maintain visual and experiential consistency across products and features, contributing to the existing and future design system(s).
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of design practices and outputs into day-to-day development processes.
  • Communicate design rationale and present solutions to various audiences, including internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops and design sprints to drive alignment, innovation, all while ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high quality standard.
