Product Designer, Mobile Apps

About The Position

Full Swing builds technology for serious golfers and athletes, including simulator experiences and connected mobile apps and hardware. The mobile design team owns companion apps that pair with devices and guide users through setup, calibration, live sessions, and performance tracking. As the hardware ecosystem expands, the apps are expanding with it, and design is central to making complex connected experiences simple. The mid-level Product Designer leads scoped, end-to-end design work for key mobile app feature areas. The role turns ambiguous problems into clear user flows and polished interfaces, partnering closely with Product and Engineering from concept through launch. It calls for ownership of a product area and the ability to work quickly in a lean, fast-paced environment without sacrificing design craft. The role operates in a hybrid or office-based environment, depending on company needs. Work is primarily office-based with standard working hours, though occasional after-hours support may be required. It involves frequent cross-department collaboration and communication, extended periods sitting and working at a computer, and the ability to lift 25 lbs.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of product design experience shipping consumer or professional mobile applications for iOS and/or Android.
  • A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of shipped product work, including problem framing, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, prototypes, and iteration informed by user feedback or product data.
  • Proficiency in Figma, including creating and maintaining detailed user flows, component libraries, and interactive prototypes.
  • Solid understanding of iOS and Android design guidelines, including Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design, and how they differ.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and move quickly in a fast-paced environment, including defining problems rather than only solving assigned ones.
  • Experience working directly with engineers through implementation and QA.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to explain design decisions to design and non-design audiences.
  • Portfolio should include 2–3 case studies demonstrating direct contribution to shipped mobile product work, covering the user problem and context, role and partners, workflows and edge cases, decisions and tradeoffs, final interface and prototype, and post-launch learning. Confidential or password-protected case studies are welcome.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing connected hardware/software experiences, such as Bluetooth/BLE pairing, device onboarding, setup, calibration, live-session, or device-status flows.
  • Experience contributing to, auditing, or scaling a component library or design system.
  • Experience writing or closely collaborating on UX copy or microcopy.
  • Experience planning or supporting user interviews and usability tests, and synthesizing findings into product decisions.
  • Comfort incorporating AI tools into the design workflow, such as Figma AI or AI-assisted prototyping, to work faster without cutting corners.
  • Interest or background in sports, fitness, or performance-tracking products.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end design process for mobile features, from problem framing and user flows through high-fidelity UI and developer handoff.
  • Create and maintain detailed user flows and prototypes in Figma that communicate logic, edge cases, and states to engineering.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Engineers from discovery through launch, balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.
  • Contribute to and help evolve the design system to ensure consistency across iOS and Android.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data, including user research, analytics, and usability testing, to validate design decisions and iterate after launch.
  • Present design rationale to stakeholders, including leadership, and incorporate feedback while keeping the user problem in view.
  • Collaborate with other designers on critique, systems thinking, and shared UX patterns across the broader product.
  • Design accessible mobile experiences by applying platform accessibility standards to interaction, visual hierarchy, typography, color, and touch targets.
  • Partner with engineers during implementation and QA to ensure shipped experiences match intended behavior, quality, and edge-case handling.
