About The Position

Sola is seeking its first fully dedicated Product Designer to own product interface design across its ecosystem, including agent tools, policyholder experiences, and internal platforms. The designer will collaborate closely with product and engineering from discovery through implementation, focusing on flows, interactions, and systems that prioritize clarity, consistency, and long-term quality. This role involves significant ownership of core product surfaces and will influence the platform's evolution during scaling. A key aspect will be contributing to patterns and design systems that enable Sola to scale while maintaining high usability and visual craft standards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as an in-house product designer working on shipped products
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong product thinking and interface design, especially in simplifying complex systems
  • Ability to design across levels of fidelity from high-level flows to detailed interactions
  • A structured approach to design using research, principles, and clear rationale
  • Experience collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and designers
  • Understanding of how design supports adoption, usability, and long-term product quality
  • Clear communication and presentation skills
  • Strong visual and interface design skills focused on hierarchy, clarity, and consistency
  • Experience designing complex, data-driven products or interfaces with multiple user types
  • Experience contributing to or evolving a design system across multiple product surfaces
  • Strong collaboration with engineers to ensure designs are feasible, maintainable, and consistent
  • Familiarity with accessibility and responsive design best practices
  • Experience with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma or similar
  • Experience creating prototypes using code or code-adjacent tools (Cursor, Framer, React, or similar) to validate complex interactions

Responsibilities

  • Design and ship clear, intuitive product interfaces across multiple user types
  • Own end-to-end user flows from concept through implementation
  • Partner closely with product managers and engineers to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints
  • Use research, testing, and product metrics to inform and improve designs
  • Contribute to and evolve Sola’s design system and shared UI patterns
  • Maintain a high standard of interface quality across visual design, interaction design, and usability
