Founding Product Designer

ZoomlogiSan Francisco, CA
$150,000 - $220,000Hybrid

About The Position

This is the first design hire at a company that's already in production, solving real-world problems with AI. The screens you design will run on real shipments, for real customers, and you'll see them in front of operators within weeks, not quarters. Every person at ZoomLogi talks directly to customers, and design is no exception. We believe designers who've watched an operator work through a temperature excursion at 2am make better product decisions than designers who've read a summary of it. You'll be in customer calls regularly, because what you see there is the design brief. You'll own design across the product, from the first sketch to the shipped interface and back again, working closely with the founding team and engineers. There's no design team to inherit and no playbook waiting for you. You'll set the bar.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of professional product design experience.
  • Strong skills across interaction, visual, and systems design, with a focus on complex, data-dense applications (dashboards, ops tooling, dev tools, fintech, logistics).
  • Proven experience shipping software with real users and ability to articulate design decisions and tradeoffs.
  • Fluency in Figma.
  • Ability to prototype effectively to communicate motion and interaction.
  • Ability to own design end-to-end as the first designer, without a supporting team.
  • Comfort with ambiguity at the problem level.
  • Genuine interest in the logistics and healthcare domain, including compliance constraints and the tension between quality and speed.
  • Willingness to engage in customer contact and leverage those insights for design.
  • Honesty about knowledge gaps and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to context-switch across multiple product areas (control tower, workflow builder, alerting, AI, design system).
  • Based in San Francisco and excited about being in the office (4 days a week).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with React/TypeScript component systems.
  • Experience designing LLM-driven surfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Design the control tower, which is the core surface for managing multi-leg shipments, real-time status, and exceptions.
  • Design the alerting and intervention experience, ensuring timely and effective responses to detected risks.
  • Own the interaction model for Logiblock, a node-based, no-code canvas for building logistics automations.
  • Define and design AI-native surfaces, including conversational and agentic patterns, making AI reasoning legible to users.
  • Develop and maintain the design system, ensuring consistency and density for data-heavy operational screens.
  • Work closely with the founding team and engineers to bring designs from concept to shipped interface.
  • Participate regularly in customer calls to gather insights and inform design decisions.
  • Set the design standard and ensure its implementation across the product.
