About The Position

Spacelift is hiring a Product Designer with 2 to 5 years of experience to handle well-scoped, ongoing work on a mature product. This role is designed for someone to perform craft on a real product, with opportunities to learn from senior designers and a clear path toward a Senior position. The designer will be responsible for iterations, improvements, edge cases, polish, and consistency work on a mature product area, likely Deploy, under the guidance of a Senior or Staff Designer. They will transform defined problems into production-ready interface designs, contributing to research, running user interviews and usability checks, and synthesizing findings. The role involves fluent use of the design system, partnering with engineering and PM through implementation, and contributing design assets for launches and releases. Building technical fluency in DevOps, IaC, and user workflows is also a key aspect of the position. Spacelift is a well-funded company founded in 2020, offering an innovative culture, growth opportunities, work-life balance, and a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of product design experience, ideally on B2B, technical, or developer-facing products.
  • Solid fundamentals in interaction design, information architecture, and visual design.
  • Fluency in Figma and modern design system practice.
  • A portfolio or work samples with concrete examples we can review, showing shipped product work, design process, interaction decisions, and visual craft. Applications without examples or a portfolio will not be considered.
  • Reliable on ongoing, iterative work. You finish things, you sweat the details, and you keep quality consistent across a lot of small surfaces.
  • Clear written and verbal communicator. You can explain a design decision in a couple of sentences.
  • Open to critique and direction. You want to work under senior designers and get better fast.
  • Curiosity about technical users and technical conversations.
  • Comfortable using AI tools in your design workflow (ideation, exploration, basic automation) and curious about where they help. We use them daily and expect you to.
  • Fluent English (B2+), based in Europe.

Nice To Haves

  • Background or coursework in DevOps tools, infrastructure, observability, CI/CD, or developer products.
  • Experience contributing to (not owning) a design system and familiarity with design tokens.
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS or basic prototyping in code.
  • Exposure to Working Backwards or other artifact-driven product practices.

Responsibilities

  • Own well-scoped, ongoing design work on a mature product area (likely Deploy): iterations, improvements, edge cases, polish, and consistency work, with review and direction from a Senior or Staff Designer.
  • Turn defined problems into clear, production-ready interface designs. Strong fundamentals in interaction design, information architecture, and visual design.
  • Contribute to research alongside a senior teammate. Run focused user interviews and usability checks. Synthesize findings with support.
  • Use the design system fluently. Reuse what is there, flag gaps when a pattern is missing.
  • Partner with engineering and PM through implementation. Pair on edge cases. Communicate decisions with reasoning, not preference.
  • Contribute design assets to launches and releases (in-product onboarding, release-notes visuals, announcement surfaces) with guidance.
  • Build technical fluency. Be curious about DevOps, IaC, and the dense, technical workflows our users live in, even when it is new to you.

Benefits

  • Flexible work environment
  • Remote-first options
  • Competitive compensation packages
