About The Position

AngelList is seeking a Product Design Lead to drive product design across its expanding business units, which include banking, payments, wealth, and asset management. The role involves building excellent products within each division while also defining the connective tissue across them to create a coherent ecosystem. The Product Design Lead will build and lead the design team, elevate the quality of products, and establish principles, systems, and discovery practices to position AngelList as the leading financial institution for private markets. This is an opportunity to shape how startups are funded and built by working with a team that values precision, urgency, and long-term thinking.

Requirements

8+ years as Product Designer
2+ years in a formal management role
Specific experience working in complex domains with interconnected brand dynamics
Systems thinker with strong interaction and visual design skills
High bar for craft and quality
Enjoy mentoring and developing other designers
Understand that deep thinking, clear product vision, and customer obsession are some of the most important things designers bring to a team
Enjoy collaborating on tight-knit cross-functional teams, and orienting problem-solving dynamics to yield ambitious outcomes

Responsibilities

Operate as a player-coach on a lean design team, partnering with cross-functional teams to build thoughtful product experiences.
Recruit, lead, and develop a small team of elite designers.
Elevate AngelListâ€™s capacity for high-quality interaction and visual design, crafting elegant, intuitive experiences across complex financial systems.
Deeply understand the range of AngelList customers, and use research and insights to clarify problems and deliver great design solutions.
