Product Design Lead (Remote)

The Product Design Lead at Pathstream is responsible for driving the design and user experience of their digital career pathing and learning platform. They will provide hands-on management to a team of UI/UX designers, support prototyping and hypothesis testing efforts, and develop collaborative processes with product management and engineering. This is a full-time, remote position reporting to the VP of Product.

• Drive the design and user experience of the digital career pathing and learning platform
• Provide hands-on management to a team of two UI/UX designers, guiding their growth and ensuring the delivery of exceptional design solutions
• Support prototyping and hypothesis testing efforts to shape the future development of the product
• Develop best-practice collaborative processes with product management and engineering
• Lead the design process, frameworks, and execution for the digital career pathing and learning platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate concepts into design solutions
• Proactively identify and pursue design opportunities
• Provide mentorship and manage the capacity of a team of two designers
• Set clear objectives, review their work, and ensure high-quality designs that are production-ready
• Contribute to the refinement and maintenance of standards of craft, including a design system for consistency and scalability
• Conduct user research and usability testing in collaboration with the User Research Lead
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for testing with users
• Support product innovation work by developing new design concepts
• Spearhead and maintain collaborative processes between design and other stakeholders
• Clearly present and communicate design concepts and rationale to internal stakeholders
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging design tools, and best practices

• Degree or equivalent experience in Design, Product Design, HCI, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in user experience and/or product design.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects, including web and mobile applications, with a focus on finding solutions that harmonize business goals with user experience.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in leading the design process, frameworks, and execution for digital platforms.
• Ability to provide mentorship and manage a team of designers.
• Knowledge of standards of craft and design systems for consistency and scalability.
• Experience in conducting user research and usability testing.
• Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
• Proficiency in prototyping and developing new design concepts.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder communication skills.
