About The Position

The Product Design Engineer designs, builds, and tests new products, supporting product implementation from concept through production launch. The role develops product concepts and 3D models, creates drawings and specifications, selects production materials and components, and builds and tests prototypes. It also supports production processes, current products, and the Sales Department with technical assistance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency using 3D CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
Ability to read and interpret calipers, micrometers, and blueprints.
Hands-on skills to assemble prototypes and perform preliminary testing.
Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to prioritize and multitask.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting.

Nice To Haves

Five years of related experience preferred.
Experience with SolidWorks is preferred.

Responsibilities

Use computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed product drawings.
Produce product specifications and select raw materials and components for production.
Develop concepts and create 3D models.
Build product models and prototypes and test designs.
Present concepts to customers.
Create detailed prints.
Inspect prototype and initial production parts.
Work with Quality Control and Manufacturing Engineering to develop production processes.
Develop and document product testing.
Support Quality Control and Manufacturing Engineering on current products.
Provide technical support for the Sales Department.
