Product Builder, AI Insights

Figma•San Francisco, NY

About The Position

Figma’s AI Insights team within Research is seeking a builder with exceptional design craft and deep AI fluency to create internal AI products that help Figmates understand customers and their needs. These products will scale customer intimacy across Figma and inform product and business decisions. The role owns products from initial concept through design, building, evaluation, launch, and adoption, primarily using AI tools and applying strong design and product judgment. The builder is expected to ship early, improve products rapidly, and maintain the level of care expected of customer-facing Figma experiences. The position reports to Noam Segal, Director of AI Insights. It can be based at Figma’s New York City or San Francisco hub, or remotely within the United States.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated exceptional design craft through a UX or product design background, with strong interaction design, visual judgment, and the ability to simplify complex workflows without sacrificing important details.
  • Experience building and shipping impactful products by turning ambitious ideas into working solutions using AI tools, with significant hands-on contributions, strong execution, and sustained value beyond initial prototypes.
  • Deep AI fluency, including building sophisticated workflows that connect models, data, and tools; troubleshooting failures across prompts and integrations; and translating emerging capabilities into effective products.
  • Strong product judgment, including identifying unmet user needs, translating complex customer information into intuitive experiences, and making thoughtful tradeoffs across scope, quality, and speed.

Nice To Haves

  • Academic background in design, interaction design, or human-computer interaction.
  • Track record in customer research or in building research platforms and tools that help employees explore customer evidence.
  • Ability to align teams around product priorities, communicate a clear point of view, and drive adoption by resolving competing needs with clear tradeoffs.
  • Experience building evaluations based on realistic tasks to verify the accuracy, evidence quality, and usability of AI-powered products.
  • Familiarity with Figma’s products.

Responsibilities

  • Identify where Figmates need better customer understanding and select opportunities where an internal product can make a meaningful difference.
  • Design clear, compelling experiences that help employees find customer evidence, understand needs, and make informed decisions.
  • Use AI tools to build and ship internal products, owning work from initial concept through launch and continued use.
  • Ship focused versions early and improve them rapidly through feedback, actual use, and attention to interaction and visual details.
  • Set a high quality bar for AI behavior, evidence quality, and usability; build evaluations that expose failures and verify improvements.
  • Partner with Research, Design, Product, Engineering, and internal users to launch products and support adoption.
