This role collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Procurement to support development programs and ensure producible, high-quality designs. The Product Assurance Engineer Specialist contributes to design quality assurance activities including design validation, verification, risk management, and flight test support. They partner with Design Engineering to resolve quality issues and support transition from development to production. The role also supports design and process capability analysis and validates requirements incorporation. Additionally, the specialist assists in supplier selection activities, ensures quality standards are met, and partners with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and validate manufacturing processes. The role involves applying risk management tools such as FMEA, supporting APQP activities including control plans, and analyzing technical data, drawings, and 3D models to identify risks and ensure compliance with standards. The Product Assurance Engineer Specialist acts as a liaison between cross-functional teams and external partners as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years of experience in a specific technical discipline or 8 years of broad engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Advanced degree credit applicable (Master’s up to 2 years, PhD up to 4 years)
  • Understanding of design quality principles, including FMEA, SPC, and key characteristics
  • Experience with GD&T and interpreting engineering drawings and CATIA models
  • Knowledge of APQP, control plans, and design/process validation methodologies
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, analyze data, and draw conclusions
  • Proven project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems and engineering tools
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Responsibilities
