This role collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Procurement to support development programs and ensure producible, high-quality designs. The specialist will contribute to design quality assurance activities including design validation, verification, risk management, and flight test support. They will partner with Design Engineering to resolve quality issues and support the transition from development to production, as well as support design and process capability analysis and validate requirements incorporation. The role also involves assisting in supplier selection activities, ensuring quality standards are met, partnering with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and validate manufacturing processes, applying risk management tools such as FMEA, and supporting APQP activities including control plans. The specialist will analyze technical data, drawings, and 3D models to identify risks and ensure compliance with standards, and act as a liaison between cross-functional teams and external partners as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5 years of experience in a specific technical discipline or 8 years of broad engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
• Advanced degree credit applicable (Master’s up to 2 years, PhD up to 4 years)
• Understanding of design quality principles, including FMEA, SPC, and key characteristics
• Experience with GD&T and interpreting engineering drawings and CATIA models
• Knowledge of APQP, control plans, and design/process validation methodologies
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, analyze data, and draw conclusions
• Proven project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Proficiency with computer systems and engineering tools
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents, Engineering drawings and 3D models (CATIA).
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
