About The Position

Quantum Machines is expanding into a new market and is seeking a Product & Architecture Lead to define the product and technical architecture for a new capability. The position is part of a nascent, fast-growing initiative with room to shape its roadmap, architecture, and team, supported by the resources and credibility of an established quantum technology company. The lead will bring market insight, define product requirements, shape the solution architecture, and collaborate with partners, customers, and prospects. The position also involves external customer engagement and relationships with hardware and equipment partners.

Requirements

  • Proven product and/or technical leadership experience.
  • High technical acumen and ability to understand and make trade-offs within complex systems.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and without a fully formed playbook.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and a high degree of independence.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with other teams.
  • Willingness to travel for customer engagement.

Nice To Haves

  • Product management experience and a track record of driving product vision and architecture (strong advantage).
  • Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Physics or Electrical Engineering, and experience in experimental quantum computing (strong advantage).
  • Hands-on experience with qubits or QPUs, including quantum device physics, cryogenics, control electronics, control software, materials, or processes (strong advantage).
  • System architecture experience, preferably in quantum computing (an advantage).
  • Experience working in a rapidly growing startup environment (an advantage).

Responsibilities

  • Define and manage product requirements, launch plans, and the roadmap for a new capability.
  • Own the technical architecture end-to-end, from core building blocks to a complete, customer-ready solution, and make build-versus-buy-versus-integrate decisions.
  • Use expertise in quantum computing and quantum computing fabrication processes to inform decisions and roadmap planning.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across hardware, software, and packaging, and influence stakeholders to support successful delivery.
  • Serve as an external technical point of contact, translating customer and market insight into product and architecture decisions.
  • Build and own relationships with external hardware and equipment partners, tracking and helping shape emerging capabilities relevant to the initiative.
