The role calls for expertise in quantum computing technologies and fabrication processes, product or technical leadership, and the ability to make decisions in an ambiguous environment.

Requirements

  • Familiarity and experience with quantum computing technologies and fabrication processes.
  • Proven product and/or technical leadership experience.
  • High technical acumen and the ability to understand and make trade-offs within complex systems.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and working without a fully formed playbook.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Strong organizational skills and a high degree of independence.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with other teams as a team player.
  • Willingness to travel for customer engagement.

Nice To Haves

  • Product management experience with a track record of driving product vision and architecture.
  • Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Physics or Electrical Engineering; experience in experimental quantum computing.
  • Hands-on experience with qubits or QPUs, including quantum device physics, cryogenics, control electronics, control software, materials, or processes.
  • System architecture experience, preferably in quantum computing.
  • Experience working in a rapidly growing startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define and manage product requirements, launch plans, and the roadmap for a new capability.
  • Own the technical architecture end-to-end, from core building blocks to a complete, customer-ready solution, and make build-versus-buy-versus-integrate decisions.
  • Use expertise in quantum computing and fabrication processes to inform decisions and roadmap planning.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across hardware, software, and packaging, and influence stakeholders to support successful delivery.
  • Serve as an external technical point of contact and translate customer and market insights into product and architecture decisions.
  • Build and own relationships with external hardware and equipment partners, tracking and helping shape emerging capabilities relevant to the initiative.
  • Work closely with Quantum Machines’ Product, Architecture, and R&D teams, as well as partners, customers, and prospects.
