About The Position

The Big Weekend Show is seeking a dynamic, hardworking, and innovative Producer with sharp editorial instincts and the ability to develop compelling segments, live shots, and teases. The Producer stays ahead of new developments, finds elements that bring stories to life, and understands how each piece fits into the larger show. This position is fully onsite and follows a Wednesday–Sunday schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of skills and demonstrated experience.
• Experience working in live television news at a national or top-market news organization.
• Experience covering breaking news both in the control room and in the newsroom.
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of news, politics, and current events.
• Understanding of how to build and maintain a rundown.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, make decisive calls, remain detail-oriented, and meet tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in and experience with line producing.
• Familiarity with iNews, Dalet, and Viz.

Responsibilities

• Pitch and execute fresh, creative ideas for all parts of the show.
• Identify and develop compelling on-air story elements, including sound, video, guests, graphics, and live shots.
• Monitor multiple sources for new developments and keep the team informed in real time.
• Write, edit, oversee, and rewrite copy as needed.
• Produce segments from initial concept through air.
• Fill in as Line Producer when needed.
• Communicate clearly with hosts, directors, and production team members.
• Contribute to editorial planning and the daily rundown.
• Mentor and help train newer staff members.
