About The Position

CBC London is hiring a multiplatform producer with journalism experience to contribute to the successful operation of the newsroom in the afternoon and evening, which includes overseeing the regional radio program Afternoon Drive. Reporting to the executive producer, you work with reporters and hosts to ensure the biggest stories of the day are reflected across platforms. You put yourself in the audience’s shoes and you’re constantly asking what they need and where they’re looking for it. Nothing makes you happier than working with colleagues to develop original journalism that includes the various perspectives of people in both rural and urban southwestern Ontario. You will strive to broaden the range of perspectives and experiences reflected in our coverage, especially those from people who have been traditionally underrepresented in the media. You have experience assigning and managing the work of others. You possess excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills, are a strong planner and organizer, and are at ease with juggling multiple tasks and priorities at once. You care about the people you work with and have a recognized ability to coach and motivate others. You will ensure that all our work adheres to CBC’s Journalistic Standards and Practices and that it upholds our core principles of accuracy, fairness, balance, impartiality and integrity. This role requires full-time, on-site presence in the CBC London newsroom. It will be scheduled with a late morning start time.
