About The Position

NBCUniversal News Group is looking for someone entrenched in the type of journalism that is recognized and acknowledged across the media industry. As a Producer for Awards & Recognition, you will be responsible for helping craft and edit compelling entries for top tier industry awards from across NBCUniversal News Group. This is someone who is passionate about all the brands of NBC News and Telemundo News; a nimble communicator who can speak the language of high-performing, ambitious content and has an eye for what makes a compelling award entry. Leverage some of the most influential news brands in the world to develop awards applications from start to finish to help some of our best content and journalism earn industry recognition. This is a short-term position with an estimated duration of 12 months or less, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

Requirements

• 10+ years experience in a newsroom.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or other discipline emphasizing storytelling or multimedia creation.
• Deep understanding of the awards process and the opportunities for recognition.
• Self-starter who can build relationships both internally and externally.
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

• Understanding of production functions of shows and platforms to produce award submissions.
• Experience crafting compelling narratives and experience with creating entries
• Exceptional organization skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Collaborative team player with strong editing, writing and social skills.

Responsibilities

• Help create and support editorial teams with the development of awards submissions.
• Establish strong relationships with industry award organizations.
• Write and edit content for submissions.
• Produce and edit tape packages across linear and digital platforms.
