Produce Coordinator

About The Position
The Produce Coordinator oversees the produce section for Nature’s Wonders. The role orders, displays, and maintains produce; manages invoices, pricing, and signage; and helps keep produce storage areas clean and organized. The coordinator works with the Director of Purchasing and vendors to manage spending, contributes ideas and specials for social media and marketing, and assists with cashier and barista duties as needed. The position operates under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and make recommendations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptability to new processes and procedures.
- Excellent self-motivation and initiative while working unsupervised.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at one time.
- Ability to move freely around the workspace; sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, bending, crawling, and climbing may be necessary.
Responsibilities
- Order produce.
- Set up and arrange produce displays in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
- Soak, trim, and otherwise maintain the life and integrity of produce.
- Remove expired produce and cull items from inventory as needed.
- Enter invoices into Catapult and keep pricing current.
- Update produce signage and prices.
- Sample produce items regularly.
- Submit ideas and specials for social media and marketing.
- Keep the walk-in cooler and produce back-stock shelf clean and organized.
- Clean the produce cooler regularly.
- Work with the Director of Purchasing to maintain the spending budget.
- Work with vendors and representatives to maximize the spending budget.
- Assist with cashier and barista duties as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
