The Produce Clerk II maintains stock levels in the produce department by replenishing products as needed. They execute the boomerang theory by providing exceptional service to all guests. Requirements

  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment.
  • Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
  • Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards.
  • Proper training and knowledge of slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, and baler.
  • Knowledge of the retail food business.
  • Thorough knowledge of perishable department operations.
  • Merchandising skills.
  • Ability to make timely and effective decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service to guests, including assisting guests with finding items, taking orders, answering the telephone, and addressing guest concerns.
  • Stocks and maintains product levels by filling all items on display, rotating products using the first-in, first-out method, following display standards, and ensuring the sales floor is clean and tidy.
  • Maintains Produce supplies (e.g., roll bags, twist ties).
  • Completes log sheets by taking temperatures regularly, filling out rotation sheets daily, and recording shrink daily.
  • Maintains the Produce Cooler by rotating items using the first-in, first-out method and keeping the cooler clean and organized.
  • Responsible for ordering some product (e.g., dips, spices, herbs).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ensures regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule and provides adequate notice for occasional absences.
