PT Produce Sales Associate
About The Position
The Produce Associate provides quality customer service in the Produce Department, maintains department standards in accordance with the standard practice manual, maximizes sales through excellent customer service, and minimizes shrink through proper use of standard practices. The role includes handling merchandise from ordering and receiving through preparation, conditioning, and display, as well as unloading trucks. Associates use company tools and follow company policies, food safety and workplace safety procedures, and applicable regulations. They also complete required computer-based training, training packets, and training aids.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
- Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
- Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities
- Create a positive shopping experience by maintaining enthusiastic customer awareness and providing fast, friendly, and accurate customer service.
- Be courteous and helpful to other associates.
- Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and display of merchandise follow policies and guidelines.
- Unload trucks for the Produce Department.
- Understand and use company tools, including the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and computer-assisted ordering (CAO).
- Understand and follow company guidelines, policies, and standard practices.
- Follow food safety and workplace safety guidelines and procedures.
- Observe and correct unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidents.
- Report associate and customer accidents in accordance with established Food Lion procedures to the Manager on Duty.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Wear the Food Lion uniform, apron, and name badge while on duty, maintain a neat and clean appearance, and adhere to the dress code.
- Complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
