The Master Craftsman Procurement Technician will analyze drawings, blueprints, and technical data to determine supply needs, create and consolidate Bills of Materials (BoM), and research and identify potential suppliers. This role involves negotiating terms with suppliers, liaising on updates, creating purchase requests, and ensuring the accuracy of delivered goods. The technician will monitor inventory, develop procurement strategies, and work closely with project teams to understand requirements. Key responsibilities include communicating pricing and performance needs to vendors, documenting product features, preparing cost-benefit analyses, and generating supply cost reports. The role also requires monitoring demand to prevent shortages, staying updated on industry activities, and being flexible to work long hours and travel as needed. Additionally, the technician will assist with establishing and maintaining inventory of government, customer, and KIHOMAC property, participate in test or project events, and follow engineering guidance. This position fosters the development of critical thinking, engineering and manufacturing practices, and an understanding of interdisciplinary teamwork.
