About The Position

The Procurement Technical Analyst (PMA/DER) supports strategic sourcing initiatives across assigned procurement categories. In this role, you will help develop and execute category strategies that enable UPS to procure goods and services at the best overall value while supporting business objectives. As a category subject matter expert, you will analyze spend, supplier performance, market trends, and cost-saving opportunities to drive continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, support negotiations, and help ensure sourcing activities align with company policies, risk management requirements, and category-specific regulations. This position is ideal for professionals looking to build their sourcing, procurement, supplier management, and strategic planning expertise within a global organization.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of procurement, sourcing, supplier management, or related business functions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of sourcing and category management strategies.

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while supporting supplier performance management initiatives.

  • Identify opportunities to optimize the supplier base and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and report on category performance metrics, savings targets, and supplier effectiveness.
  • Ensure sourcing activities comply with applicable regulations, company policies, and risk mitigation requirements.
  • Assist in developing contingency plans and risk management strategies for assigned categories.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support procurement projects and business initiatives.
  • Share insights and recommendations based on data analysis, industry trends, and stakeholder feedback.
