About The Position

Oversee procurement activities for shop operations, including sourcing and purchasing materials, supplies, and tools, managing vendor relationships, and coordinating subcontractor services to support production schedules and project deliverables.

Requirements

  • Experience expediting materials and services.
  • Ability to receive, review, and process customer work orders and job documentation.
  • Experience entering new customer jobs into a system.
  • Skill in assembling work order packages.
  • Ability to track and coordinate the movement of parts to outside vendors.
  • Experience resolving material quality, delivery, or service issues.
  • Ability to monitor costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate purchasing records and documentation.
  • Experience creating and maintaining Part Master data.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, engineering, quality, management).
  • Knowledge of company purchasing policies, quality standards, and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all subcontracted processing activities, including anodizing, plating, heat treating, and other outside services.
  • Prepare, issue, and maintain purchase orders for materials, tooling, hardware, and subcontracted services.
  • Source and procure raw materials, tooling, and hardware required to support production schedules and customer orders.
  • Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate vendor quotations for pricing, lead times, and delivery requirements to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Monitor order status and maintain regular communication with vendors and subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery and completion of work.
  • Expedite materials and services as needed to prevent production delays and meet customer commitments.
  • Receive, review, and process customer work orders and job documentation.
  • Enter new customer jobs into the system accurately and promptly.
  • Assemble work order packages, including blueprints, specifications, and supporting documentation, and distribute them to the appropriate departments.
  • Track and coordinate the movement of parts sent to outside vendors for subcontract services.
  • Address and resolve material quality, delivery, or service issues with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor material and subcontract costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor information, and procurement documentation.
  • Create and maintain Part Master data to ensure accurate inventory, purchasing, and production records.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and management teams to ensure procurement activities align with operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, quality standards, and customer specifications.
  • Perform other necessary duties and tasks as requested.
