About The Position

Aston Carter is partnering with a Leading Manufacturer in the Area to find a Buyer to join a growing procurement and supply chain team supporting a complex manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a procurement professional who enjoys balancing day-to-day purchasing responsibilities with strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier management. This position offers exposure to both tactical supply chain operations and long-term procurement strategy, creating an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional looking to expand their career within a collaborative organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or buying roles.
  • Experience working within an ERP system and utilizing MRP planning processes.
  • Strong supplier relationship management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in manufacturing, packaging, ingredients, raw materials, or related procurement categories preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple facilities, locations, or complex supply chains is highly valued.
  • Exposure to strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, RFPs, cost-savings initiatives, or supplier scorecards is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manage approximately $20M in spend, including corrugate, labels, flexible packaging, preformed bags, and related categories.
  • Execute purchasing activities, including purchase order management, inventory planning, and material replenishment.
  • Run and maintain MRP-driven planning processes within an ERP environment.
  • Support multiple manufacturing facilities by ensuring materials are available in the right place at the right time.
  • Monitor inventory levels, outage reports, and supplier performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, project teams, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Lead or support sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and RFP processes.
  • Participate in new product development projects by working with suppliers on packaging solutions, pricing, testing, and implementation.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts and identify opportunities for process enhancements.
