About The Position

The Procurement Specialist works closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries of STA’s required materials and services at the lowest total cost.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of Purchasing / Supply Chain or relevant experience
  • Associate degree in business or related field or equivalent
  • Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience

Responsibilities

  • Approves, places and expedites order requests.
  • Obtains quotes or pricing bids and selects best source consistent with cost, quality and delivery requirements.
  • Responsible for purchasing materials and services for Middletown site.
  • Processes authorizations credits and returns.
  • Meets quarterly with critical vendors.
  • Acts as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement-related problems.
  • Processes RMA (return material authorizations) requests with supply chain partners
  • Manages “Open Order” report.
  • Tracks savings.
  • Coordinate and negotiate with suppliers, accounts payable, and internal stakeholders in resolving issues associated with specific purchases or projects, expediting orders, price discrepancies, warranty claims, and the return or cancellation of purchase orders.
  • Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International. Standards, and STA’s Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned
