About The Position

Worker Type Regular Job Description Working closely with Operations, Finance, and Program Management, the Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for managing inventory levels to ensure resources are consistent with production requirements. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining inventory schedules, locating, and assessing potential suppliers for materials components, and services, and managing the Work Order process for production. This role solicits and evaluates supplier quotes, coordinates and expedites Purchase Orders, maintains relationships with suppliers and ensures material is received on schedule to support AV’s Production schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field; or 5 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in material planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related position.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required.
  • This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants must qualify as a U.S. person under the ITAR and the EAR, or a person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
  • Some positions will require current U.S. Citizenship due to contract requirements.
  • A “U.S. person” according to the ITAR definition is a U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), or protected individual such as a refugee or asylee. See 22 CFR § 120.15.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate inventory of materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production.
  • Schedule and oversee the supply and delivery of materials and products.
  • Source, negotiate, and select vendors that meet the company’s quality, price, and delivery requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure minimum stock levels are maintained.
  • Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with vendors on late orders.
  • Create Work Orders to ensure the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production.
  • Coordinate with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, supplier payments, etc.
  • Manage inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations.
  • Work with Supplier Quality and Material Program Management to administer supplier audits, and capacity and capability reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.
